Program Description
While there is now an accepted standard of care in the treatment of newly diagnosed glioblastoma for most patients, there is no such consensus for elderly patients. Clinicians typically are less aggressive in treating patients over the age of 70 because this population often has multiple comorbidities and poorer health in general. This brief educational activity makes a compelling case for effective treatment of elderly glioblastoma patients, explaining that evidence supports the conclusion that these patients frequently benefit as much from intensive treatment as their younger counterparts.
