The search for effective treatments for malignant gliomas first necessitates a thorough understanding of their genetic composition. Unraveling the biologic mysteries of these tumors has yielded information about some molecular biomarkers that can potentially be used to better predict patient prognosis and aid in treatment selection. This brief educational activity highlights information about some of these promising indicators.
