Program Description
As a result of the ongoing effort to develop more effective treatments for malignant gliomas, translational research has exposed many of the genetic and molecular secrets of these tumors. Targeted therapies are under development to treat the unique vasculature of glioblastomas. Studies are showing that angiogenics may be vital for tumor survival; therefore, the recent successes in preclinical and clinical testing of antiangiogenics offers hope to those suffering from more aggressive forms of glioma. This program discusses the benefits and risks of these targeted therapies and offers thoughts about the future of these treatments.

Upon completion of this educational activity, the participant should be able to:
